OUR MISSION

It is our mission to share the transformative practices of Yoga and Meditation with under-resourced, vulnerable and trauma-impacted communities.  Our teachers offer practice back to communities they have a shared history or voice with.  Each United We Om program is carefully crafted to allow every person to learn tools they can integrate into their daily life.  From foster care children to Veterans, United We Om is a home for everyone.

There is no charge to the organizations we serve or the participants in our classes

​All classes are weekly and occur on-site at organizations that serve trauma-impacted or under-resourced communities such as the VA, homeless shelters, group homes, and public schools.

We pay all of our teachers for their work so they can make a sustainable commitment to this important work.

Since 2016, we have shared practice with more than

participants from under-resourced and trauma-impacted communities.

THE WORK

PROJECTS

Weekly accessible and trauma-informed Yoga and Meditation on location with under-resourced or trauma-impacted community at no cost to the host organization or participants.

INITIATIVES

A Dharma Initiative​ offers open source materials to support a specific community in accessing the healing tools of yoga, meditation and breath work.

TRAININGS

Offering the tools needed to share trauma-informed practice accessibly and impact-fully.  Our 20 hour Trauma-Informed training coming Spring 2023, all by-donation with no minimum.

HOW WE WORK

  • There is no cost to the organizations we serve or the students that practice.  Yes.  We said that.​
  • We pay all of our Project teachers for their teaching time so they are supported and the offering is sustainable.​
  • We don't limit our service to one specific demographic or population.​
  • All of our teachers are sharing practice with communities they have a direct connection with based on personal life experience and passion.
  • ​United We Om teachers have all completed our United We Om Teacher Training, which is by-donation with no minimum, so they are equipped with tools to share practice across social boundaries and with a trauma informed method.
  • Projects happen "on location" so that students can experience practice in a safe and familiar place.  These locations include Foster Care facilities, VAs and shelters for example.

Out of gratitude for the positive impact Yoga practice has made in their own lives, Matt and Jenny Jared founded United We Om to ensure that trauma-impacted and under-resourced communities have access to these healing and life changing practices.
