YOGA AND MEDITATION IN SPANISH WITH
UN-ACCOMPANIED MINOR GIRLS FROM SOUTH AMERICA
The girls living in this group home are a part of Mercy First Foster care facility. They are minors who came into this country seeking safety and asylum. Many of the girls in this project were pregnant and seeking safety for their babies as well. Our teacher, Rosa, shared love and connection through partner yoga, meditation and relaxation with the girls. There were lots of giggles and lots of beautiful quiet moments, too. United We Om has ongoing programming with this START program at Mercy First and has been serving this community for almost 4 years.
OUR TEACHER
Rosa Dluginsky
"Yoga saved me when I was at my lowest point. I found peace and healing from my grief through mediation and yoga. It is my goal to bring yoga to those individuals who are currently going through hard times. I have witnessed how yoga heals. I want that for the community."
Rosa Dluginsky has been a teacher in an under-resourced area for 25 years.
