YOGA AND MEDITATION FOR
TEEN BOYS IN ALTERNATIVE TO INCARCERATION HIGH SCHOOL
The teen boys in our Karma Project at St. Johns School in Far Rockaway, Queens are living in residential foster care as an alternative to incarceration. Placed at the school through the NYC Administration for Children’s Services, they are living apart from their family and friends, in this Residential Treatment Program. The caring staff and teachers are committed to supporting each boys recovery, and we are honored to join them by offering these young men an hour of Yoga and Meditation every week to support their journey.
OUR TEACHER
“As this ancient body practice makes its way more and more into western daily routine, we owe it to our communities to protect it as an artform and practice available to all -- especially the least, lost, and lonely.” - Sean Patrick Jernigan
Sean has been practicing yoga for 15 years and teaching since 2014. He's a Tennessee native, and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
