OUR KARMA PROJECT
YOGA for TEENAGE BOYS living in FOSTER CARE FACILITY
Sysosset, NY
The children living at the Mercy First Foster Care Facility are bright, funny and strong. They attend school and live together on the campus of the facility, separated from their families and friends. Many of the children have experienced or witnessed abuse or trauma, and live with the resonance of it every day.
The mindfulness, breathing and connection to community that yoga practice provides creates a safe space for the boys to relax and find their still point. We hope to positively impact the quality of their lives by offering them tools to move through stress and reaction. And they improve the quality of our lives by sharing their light with us! |

Yoga !? Never thought i saw myself taking this path. Would have been one of the last things i ever imagined to be as path to walk on. Somehow through an exchange of events it stumbled on my path and has been one i have been walking since. Learning how to help others heal in a external and internal way has truly been such a blessing. There is something truly enjoyable about doing something you love and knowing you have the ability to help others either get on there feet or touch there feet. Spreading and sharing the learned knowledges passed down from my teachers teachers. " If i have seen further than any man, it is because i have stood on the shoulder's of giants"
