YOGA AND MEDITATION FOR
CHILDREN IN TREATMENT FOR MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES
The children and adolescents in treatment at Mather Hospital's mental health clinic find themselves struggling with issues from eating disorders to anxiety and suicidal thoughts. Our yoga and meditation class will focus on the practices of breath and mindfulness that shift the nervous system into a resting place, and begin to offer the peace in the present moment. Our teacher, the survivor of a battle with an eating disorder herself, is called to connect with
OUR TEACHER
"Yoga and meditation supported my recovery from Anorexia, Depression, and Anxiety. When I was recovering, I remember praying and hearing God say to me "I didn't bring you out of this for you." It was in that profound moment that I realized that my struggles and subsequent recovery were part of a bigger picture for me - service to others. I firmly believe that I am a yoga teacher purely to guide others to live a fulfilled life. It has nothing to do with me - it has everything to do with supporting others." - Alexa Rae Liebgott
