YOGA AND MEDITATION FOR
LGBTQ Teen Support Group
Teens experiencing mental health issues such as anxiety and depression seek services at the North Shore Child and Family Guidance Centerxt. The support group we are sharing yoga with creates a safe space for teens receiving services at the center who may identify as LGBTQ, and offer tools for connection and self-love.
OUR TEACHER
“I think growing up in the experience and understanding of how labels, body image and society often disrespect or make our youth feel less then is an important key to interacting with children, especially teens who may be on the queer spectrum.”
Alicia Carlson teaches High School students in Carnarsie, Brooklyn and has been practicing Yoga for ten years. She identifies as Queer and is passionate about sharing yoga with the LGBTQQAI community.
