YOGA AND MEDITATION WITH
BOYS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM
BOYS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM
The young men living in the AHRC Group home in Lido Beach have a special connection with their Karma Project teacher - she's one of the residents Sister! She knows each resident and caregiver in the house. Lauren has witnessed that for the special needs community, Yoga provides an opportunity to experiment with different ways to cope with obsessive, aggressive and self-injurious behaviors, and that is will help them to find some quiet, calm and peace.
OUR TEACHER
Lauren Reek has been teaching Yoga for over 4 years. She has a brother on the autism spectrum which led to her passion for sharing practice with the special needs community.
"As someone who has personally struggled with mental health in the past (bipolar, depression, anxiety) and has had a vast improvement in the quality of my own life from these teachings, I feel I must share what has helped me with others. I know personally that yoga can be life-saving and changing, and would hate for money or social boundary to stop someone from accessing these ancient teachings."
